I wish I could say that this a painting, but it's a photo.
It's from the "Flying Saucer Coffee Shop" on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. I took this with my phone. Pretty cool.

Found a photo of this painting at the bottom of a folder under my desk. I like this one.

Snow Day...stayed home from work..gave me a chance to paint. I used watercolor pencil and a pilot razor tip pen for this. The pilot bleeds when you wet it. Sometimes I find that desireable.

Between meetings - saw this guy reading the news at Starbucks..Astor place, NYC...sunny day...I was stressed...in the middle of my work day...he, aparently had nowhere to go.

So ...It's about 19 degrees out...about 10 inches of snow...we're expecting 18..Oh, Aruba..where are you??

I threw this away but Hannah pulled it out of the trash. I have a problem assessing my stuff. I usually start out thinking I suck...Hannah likes this one...but she's my daughter.

Found this buried deep in the pages of an old journal...1996? Dont remember anything about it. Was I there? Having coffee looking down on this? I dn't think so. Probably came from a book...or a dream? Can't say....

At the Office

So here's what happens...I'm at my desk..on the phone...taking notes when the other party is speaking...then I speak and when I speak, my pen moves on it's own and these drawings appear. I've tried to make these drawings while not on the phone and I haven't been able to re-create them. There are literally thousands of these in my business planners. I sit in business meetings and my mind drifts..then these shapes appear on the paper...Some inner part of me is calling...(on the phone?)

I used to draw people on the train platform..I stopped doing that because it made me uncomfortable when the subjects caught me doing it...

This one was made on a bus in Mexico....

This is a drawing I made while sitting in a meeting to discuss a multi-million dollar construction project. I think better when I'm drawing. The colors come later. I don't think it would be appropriate to pull out colored pencils at a business meetiong.
